LL-37 (5mg) is a research-use peptide or blend for laboratory work involving repair-focused pathways, tissue-response models, and recovery-oriented study design.
Description
LL-37 is a 37-amino acid cationic host defense peptide and the only cathelicidin identified in humans. Derived from the C-terminus of hCAP-18, it is expressed by neutrophils, epithelial cells, and keratinocytes at sites of infection or injury, and represents one of the most studied human antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) in immunology and wound biology research.
Why Researchers Select LL-37
LL-37 operates through three independently researchable mechanisms: (1) direct membrane disruption of bacterial cells via amphipathic helix insertion into lipid bilayers, (2) immunomodulation through TLR4 antagonism and FPRL1 receptor agonism, and (3) wound healing promotion via EGFR transactivation and keratinocyte migration stimulation. Notably, LL-37 disrupts established P. aeruginosa and S. aureus biofilms at sub-MIC concentrations — a property distinct from conventional antibiotics.
