Hexarelin Acetate (5mg) is a research-use product for laboratory studies involving endocrine signaling, hormone-related pathways, and peptide workflow design.
Description
Hexarelin Acetate (His-D-2-MeTrp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH₂) is a synthetic hexapeptide GH secretagogue and potent agonist of the ghrelin receptor (GHSR-1a). Developed in the 1990s during the search for small peptide GH secretagogues, Hexarelin is among the most potent GHSR agonists identified, with significantly higher GH-releasing potency than GHRP-6 or Ipamorelin on a molar basis.
Why Researchers Select Hexarelin
Hexarelin’s high GHSR-1a binding affinity and potency make it useful for maximal-stimulation protocols and receptor saturation studies. Unlike Ipamorelin, Hexarelin at higher concentrations also stimulates cortisol and prolactin release — making it useful for comparative studies examining GHSR agonist selectivity profiles. Additionally, Hexarelin has been investigated for direct cardiac effects through a non-GHSR mechanism (CD36 receptor binding), making it a dual-target research compound for combined GH axis and cardiac biology studies.
Common Research Applications
- High-potency GHSR-1a agonism and maximal GH stimulation studies
- GH secretagogue potency and selectivity comparison studies
- CD36-mediated cardiac protection research
- GHSR receptor saturation and binding kinetics studies
- HPA axis co-activation studies (cortisol, ACTH, prolactin)
