ARA-290 (10mg) is a research-use peptide or blend for laboratory work involving repair-focused pathways, tissue-response models, and recovery-oriented study design.
Description
ARA-290 is an 11-amino acid cyclic peptide derived from the helix B surface of erythropoietin (EPO). Engineered to selectively activate the innate repair receptor (IRR) — the heterodimer of EPOR and the common beta (βc) receptor subunit — while having no erythropoietic activity, ARA-290 provides a clean tool for studying the tissue-protective arm of EPO biology independently of hematopoietic confounders.
Why Researchers Select ARA-290
Endogenous EPO acts on two receptor complexes: the classical EPOR homodimer (erythropoiesis) and the heterodimeric EPOR/βc receptor (cytoprotection, anti-inflammation). ARA-290 activates exclusively the latter, allowing investigation of tissue protection, neuropathic signaling, and inflammatory pathway modulation without confounding RBC production variables. It has been studied in small fiber neuropathy, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and metabolic inflammation models.
Common Research Applications
- Innate repair receptor (IRR / EPOR/βc) activation studies
- Neuropathic pain and small fiber neuropathy models
- Ischemia-reperfusion cytoprotection research
- Non-hematopoietic EPO signaling pathway investigation
- Pancreatic β-cell and metabolic inflammation protection studies
